I am sitting in front of a large MAC monitor with internet connection...that might be the simplest statement but it's such a BIG deal!! I have been traveling nonstop for the past 5 weeks with SO MUCH MORE to come. So sitting in front of a large screen instead of my little laptop screen is soo much better on the eyes :)
This is a great guestbook I put together for
La Vie Photography up in Seattle...and is WAY past due a posting. I had the chance to sit down and chat with them while traveling in the NW in the fall of 2008 and fell in love with both of their personalities! They are full of so much creativeness + energy...it was a ball of fun! I also had the great opportunity of finally putting a name to the face with
Junebug Weddings and met Christy from
Positive Light Photography. Christy, Kim and Blair are the creative juices behind the ever so inspiring Junebug Weddings website + blog!
Enjoy!

We just got back Sunday night from a mini trip to beautiful Vancouver, B.C. It was a vacation....relaxing...no working...just pure vacation time. It was necessary and so much fun. I love traveling and not having my iphone or laptop stuck to my hip. Here are a few fun shots.
Enjoy

While in Portland I photographed one of the happiest babies. Emery, at 8 months has soooo much personality. She has her own vocabulary which includes copying the cooing sounds of her mother and auntie....a new found obsession for trying to catch the remote while learning how to crawl....and the ever so adorable baby rolls! I just wanted to keep pinching her cheeks of cuteness. Caitlin & Megs enjoy these images...she was such a doll to work with :)
Enjoy

So...I am working from Seattle for two weeks. I love visiting the Northwest. Seeing old friends. Making new ones. And being around people who LOVE good tunes. With that said I wanted to listen to something 'new, inspirational, different' and I enlisted an old and very, very dear friend of mine from h.s. to give me her TOP music obsessions at the moment to post for Wednesday's list :) She used to literally make me mixed tapes in h.s. that I could rock out to while driving the 5 minutes to school. We shared the same love for the same type of music...and with 11 years past us we still share that same love. Thank God! She is ever so talented in the creative world, music world, and roaming the world with no cares. She is talent. Send her some love if you like the songs.... brienne (at) noiseracket (dot) com
ENJOY her songs of choice and her mini bio about her company Noise/Racket

From Brienne Rose of Nose/Racket:
Noise/Racket is - MusicIt began as a
Music Supervision company... But, has since evolved into something much more expansive and idealistic. Basically, the mission has become (despite the sever over-zealousness of this statement): to make the world sound better. There is so much incredible music out there that most people never have the chance to hear... because for one reason or another, those artists or bands never break through to the mainstream. So, noise/racket strives to act as somewhat of a conduit to connect people with better music - through whatever means possible.
Whether its by way of film, television, commercials, the internet, or any other number of things and sometimes.... my friends and I manage to do some guerilla marketing for music we love. full fledged underground campaigns. We leave lists and CD's, art and posters and/or post songs anywhere and everywhere for people to check out. We have also thrown some awesome shows in spontaneous places around the city (we call them "happenings". Its a secret show at a certain place, and we tell everyone the day of. Then they tell all the people they know and so on).
The soundtracking-aspect branched out into management when I fell head over heels for two different artist. And, lately... have started to meet and help out other bands as much as I can. So I guess we do everything from management, to PR and Marketing, to booking, to (ha) moral support and all things in between. It has been amazing to really dig in, because I have met so many other people who are just as clumsy and passionate about it as i am. Its like the club I always wanted to be in, in High School. music nerds unite.

These are some songs I have been listening to in the past week. Some are really new, some are super old .....but the kind that make your heart stop for a second, and maybe even cause you to twirl around... if only once. Some of them are friends of mine, some are instrumental bands and others are just straight up necessary life-lines. But,
I'm hoping you get a crush and fall in love with something on here. Everyday I get excited thinking that i might be on the verge of listening to my new favorite song. just maybe. (!!!)And, of course, Peasant and Adam Arcuragi are two artists that i manage. (sigh). They're both so gifted, and doing really well! Peasant has been on some major TV shows, and is touring Europe this fall. And Adam is... just... special. He is a published playwright so his lyrics are like the kind of poetry that the Greeks would envy. seriously. And his live shows are like nothing else - I have seen him sing people to tears (we're talking projectile crying) and dance around until they're too dizzy to stand. Its the most incredible (and inexplicable) thing. Adam's new album is coming out this summer and its called "I Am Become Joy".
