Before I left for France I had a fantastic evening with the Kush Family. If you have followed this blog at all you will recognize their little munchkin Avery. She turned 6months the weekend I was there and we managed to grab some impromptu images of the family with daddy included.
Ahhhh my alma mater how I LOVE to visit, soak up the rays on the quad, walk amongst the GORGEOUS trees, smell the beautifully crisp air and reminisce over memories that have shaped me to become the person I am today. I could write a novel about how incredible Gonzaga Unviersity was for my personal, creative and mental growth but it would bore some of you that have never stepped onto its campus. I try and go back, at least once a year to visit old friends, my old boss/mentor and to visit my two professors that I still to this day keep in touch with. Ahhh the joys of a small Jesuit education. Ok enough daydreaming...back to business.
Since my photography skills were honed, beat down, re-prioritized through classes, independent studies, work, capturing campus life....it's been a dream of mine to visit and photograph a wedding or couple in love on campus. Welllll......... I got that chance this summer.
Mike & Tiff were so much fun to get to know as a couple and see their love shine through the hillarious moments we shared during our session. I loved being able to photograph their love!!! Thanks you two and CONGRATS :)
I had the opportunity to wake before dawn to photograph the cutest Gonzaga couple that live here in AZ. It is SOOOO stinking hot here right now so our only options were super super early am sunrise shooting before the monsoon humidity and sweat became a problem. We began at the crack, 5:45am and ended right at 8am which was PERFECT since we were all dripping by that point. Enjoy
I don't even know how to describe this wedding...It was an incredible EXPERIENCE that encompassed Love, Family and Details. The day was picture perfect with no rain on a gorgeous hot summer days in Seattle. Every person that attended this wedding was there to support the two in their new life journey together and they had some stories to share. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life during wedding speeches and toasts. It was a complete honor and treat to be there to capture their love for life and what is to come. Enjoy
God is GOOD. That is all I can say to sum up this post. My 2009 started out with more life changes then I wanted to handle but NOW the good karma is pouring in...tenfold. Patience really is a virtue! I literally woke up Sunday morning at 8am and received an email that would change my life for the next 9 days. I was offered the opportunity to travel to Southern France in a small town called Perigord Noir and photograph and participate at a french culinary school. It will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I couldn't pass up. Thus, at 9am on Sunday I booked a flight to Paris and will be returning to one of my favorite countries for the second time this summer. I know I am so blessed, but this is just incredible luck. I am counting my blessings and cannot wait to share all of the images with everyone.
Stacey this teaser is for you!! I have had a ton of requests to 'get my Europe pics online' SOOO they are coming. I promise! Promise! Promise! I'm editing through them by country; as we visited eight different ones during our trip. Here are some favorites that stuck out and are now beautifully framed on my walls. Ahhh Europe I MISS YOU!
While on my many journey's to the Northwest this past spring and summer I was able to catch up with an old dear friend from my SuperCamp days. So much time had passed that Lauren was now an incredibly happy, beautiful mother of two. We met on Mercer Island for a mini shoot of her oldest, Jack. Great cloudy day with sand and fun!
Many couples are at a loss with how to showcase their engagement session images. I LOVE canvas prints that showcase an artsy or detail shot from the couples session. They are a gorgeous piece of artwork. Another great way to incorporate your favorite images from your shoot are guestbooks. There are many new modern styles instead of the traditional lined guestbook that people just write their names in. Here are a few spreads from a modern style guestbook I just finished for La Vie Photography. Enjoy
